Milestar Patagonia MT Review: Affordable Off-Road Tire With a Few Compromises

milestar-patagonia-mt-review

Off-road tires are surging in popularity, among other popular upgrades, like lifting kits. However, good off-road tires are usually expensive, making them approachable only for those with deep pockets. Fortunately, Milestar came to the rescue with the Patagonia M/T – an aggressive mud-terrain off-road tire that won’t break a bank.

However, in my eyes, at least, cheap tires are often not worth it, as they cut quite a few corners to deliver the performance they are designed for; in the case of mud-terrain tires, that would be lowering on-road traction to deliver higher off-road traction.

So, how does the Patagonia M/T fare in that regard? And, more importantly, should you buy it? You can learn everything in my in-depth Milestar Patagonia MT review. Enjoy!

Firestone WeatherGrip Review: an All-Season Tire That’s Great During the Winter

firestone-weathergrip-review

Many manufacturers have started launching “all-weather” tires lately. These are similar to all-season tires in a way that they offer year-round traction but are more focused on delivering higher snow and ice traction rather than razor-sharp handling on dry roads.

And with the WeatherGrip, Firestone wanted to create the ultimate all-season/all-weather tire – one that will work equally well on dry, wet, and snowy roads. The tire even comes with the 3PMSF (Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake) symbol, which signifies higher-than-regular longitudinal traction on snow.

This is evident by the quite aggressive tread pattern, which includes a larger void area and multiple sipes across all blocks. In that sense, it resembles a winter tire more closely than an all-season one.

However, the experience taught me that looks could cheat, which begs the question – is the Firestone WeatherGrip any good? I’ve tested the tire in various conditions and prepared an in-depth Firestone WeatherGrip review to help you find out if you should put it on your car. Enjoy!

Firestone Destination XT Review: a Solid Hybrid Tire

firestone-destination-xt-review

Firestone’s Destination range is very popular among off-road aficionados, offering excellent overall performance at (slightly) lower prices than other premium competitors.

The Destination X/T is the company’s hybrid tire, meaning it’s situated between the all-terrain AT2 and the mud-terrain MT2 model. So, it should provide you with high-enough off-road traction for camping or overlanding, and good on-road stability.

Does it deliver, though? You will find all answers in my in-depth Firestone Destination XT review, where I’ll discuss all aspects of the tire, including how well it works on paved roads and off the beaten track.

Firestone Destination MT2 Review: Great Off-Road Tire, but it Struggles on Tarmac

firestone-destination-mt2-review

Firestone launched the Destination M/T2 four years ago, citing it as the ultimate tire for adventure seekers, overlanders, and campers. The tire features an all-new design compared to its predecessor, aiming to provide better, stronger power on loose surfaces.

The most important feature, at least according to Firestone, is that the attack angles are set at 23 degrees. Notably, the company says it learned this through experience that farm tires with a 23-degree attack angle produce the highest traction on dirt.

So, does the experience Firestone gathered producing agricultural tires matter, and, crucially, is the Destination M/T2 worth your money? I’ll answer that question in my in-depth Firestone Destination MT2 review, where I’ll cover all aspects of the tire but focus mostly on the off-road abilities. Enjoy!

Firestone Destination LE3 Review: Excellent Value for Money Proposition

firestone-destination-le3-review

SUVs and crossovers are becoming more popular by the day, overtaking every other vehicle category globally. With the rising sales of these vehicles, there is an increased demand for SUV-specific tires, particularly highway all-season tires in North America. These tires are designed to provide a comfortable and safe ride and a long tread life.

A very popular highway all-season tire among American and Canadian buyers is the Destination LE3. Firestone’s latest entry into the competitive category brings several improvements over its predecessor, focusing mostly on higher safety in rainy and snowy conditions. The tire also comes with an excellent treadwear warranty and costs less than the premium competition from Continental and Michelin.

Is it any good, though? After testing the Firestone Destination LE3 for a while, I prepared an in-depth Firestone Destination LE3 review to help you find if this is the right tire for you.

Atturo Trail Blade XT Review: Good Off-Road Traction, But Subpar Wet Performance

atturo-trail-blade-xt-review

The Atturo Trail Blade XT is a tire that provides an excellent off-road experience, especially if you are a newbie into off-roading. It’s also very inexpensive, making it attractive for most buyers.

These tires are designed to provide higher off-road traction than normal all-terrain tires while also providing better on-road traction than mud-terrain tires. In other words, they are hybrids between all-terrain and mud-terrain tires.

The thing is, though, most cheap tires I’ve tried until now didn’t perform as well as the manufacturer led us to believe. So, is it the same story here, or does the Trail Blade X/T punch above its weight? I’ll answer all of your questions in my in-depth Atturo Trail Blade XT review, where I’ll mostly focus on the off-road credentials but also the on-road performance this tire provides. Enjoy!

Atturo Trail Blade MT Review: Affordable Off-Road Monster

atturo-trail-blade-mt-review

The Atturo Trail Blade M/T is an affordable off-road tire that can provide you with the necessary traction while being easy on your wallet. Sounds great, right?

But things aren’t always that simple with tires. Namely, the less you pay, the less you usually get. Now, Atturo is a brand that is fairly well accepted among off-road enthusiasts, especially among budget seekers, but that doesn’t mean a lot, as people can sometimes overestimate the abilities of the products they buy to justify the purchase.

So, is the Trail Blade M/T any good, especially for the price it’s offered? I’ll try to answer all your questions in my in-depth Atturo Trail Blade MT review, where I’ll mostly cover the off-road abilities of the tire but also give you an opinion on how it handles daily driving.

Atturo Trail Blade AT Review: Solid for the Money

atturo-trail-blade-at-review

Tiremakers like Atturo promise high levels of performance at a much lower price than the premium competition; the brand’s most popular tire is the Trail Blade A/T, designed to provide campers and overlanders with better off-road traction than the existing highway/touring tires.

That said, this is not an aggressive all-terrain tire like, for example, the Toyo Open Country A/T3. Instead, it’s designed to offer a balance between on-road and off-road traction. Atturo does have a more aggressive all-terrain tire for people that want to venture farther in the wilderness, and it’s called the Trail Blade X/T.

But is the Atturo Trail Blade A/T any good? That’s a good question, especially since, in most cases, budget tires have some glaring disadvantages when compared to premium tires. That’s something I’d try to tackle in my Atturo Trail Blade AT review, where I’ll cover every aspect of the tire and focus especially on the balance between on-road and off-road traction it offers. Enjoy!

Nitto Trail Grappler MT Review: an Excellent Off-Roading Tire

nitto-trail-grappler-mt-review

Nitto isn’t a newcomer to the off-road sector, with many drivers backing the company’s commitment to quality, without asking too much money for it. Yes, the Nitto Trail Grappler M/T is cheaper than the premium competitors, lowering the threshold for more people to enter the off-road community.

However, in my experience thus far, the less you pay for a set of tires, the less performance you get. Sure, there are exceptions to that rule, so it will be interesting to see if the Trail Grappler M/T can be that anomaly.

So, is Nitto’s mud-terrain tire any good? I’ve put the tire through the paces in off-road and on-road conditions to find out and share my experience with you. Here is my Nitto Trail Grappler MT review!

Nitto NT420V Review: Solid Performance for the Money

nitto-nt420v-review

The Nitto – the budget-oriented Japanese brand that produces tires aiming to provide a better driving experience without being overly expensive. The company’s NT420V model aims to do just that for SUV and truck owners in the USA; it’s a Street/Sport “performance” all-season tire designed to provide more grip and traction. It also looks very attractive, with a tread pattern similar to track-ready extreme-performance tires, making it an instant hit among car enthusiasts.

Moreover, the Nitto NT420V indeed costs less than its premium rivals, like the Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season Plus and Yokohama Parada Spec-X. Nonetheless, the experience taught me that cheaper tires usually cut corners in some areas in order to keep up in others. A great example of that is reducing snow traction to improve dry handling and vice versa; meanwhile, premium tiremakers tend to produce more balanced tires that work well in almost every scenario.

With that said, does this tire have some glaring disadvantages? And if it does, which are they? These are questions that I’ll answer in-depth in my Nitto NT420V review, where I’ll cover every aspect of the tire, so you can decide if it’s worth it. Let’s dig in!
